The Mason High School cross country program continues to set the mark for the sport at every meet it competes. The Spring Creek XC Invitational hosted by Irion County September 23 was no different. The Punchers won both divisions and the Cowgirls took first place in the junior varsity division to back with three meet championships. In the grand scheme of the outcome against Ingram Tom Moore, it was a little occurrence. After all, when a team puts up 55 points and only sends out the punt team twice, the offense is getting the job done in a blowout win against the Warriors September 25. The Panther football team played the Poth Pirates in their District 15-3AD2 opener Friday, September 25. Poth won 19-14. Blanco is 3-2 overall and 0-1 in district. Poth is 4-1 overall and 1-0 in district. The Pirates are ranked 9th in the state in 3A-D2 football on MaxPreps. The Panthers kicked off to the Pirates to start the game.... read more
The Lady Panther volleyball team defeated the Comfort Deer 3-0 Tuesday, September 22 and lost to the Ingram Lady Warriors 3-2 Friday, September 25. The Panthers are 17-14 overall and 1-1 in district. Set scores against Comfort were 25-16, 25-16, 25-14. Averie Vargas led the Panthers with nine kills. Brylee Stipanovich hit seven kills.... read more
The September meeting of the Blanco Independent School District's action items focused mainly on the 2026 tax rate. The board also reviewed the financials as they do every month. In addition, they voted to approve the members of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), and the purchase of certain band instruments using funds from the 2025 bond.... read more
